2 mL (1 mL min.) Serum from 1 SST. Ship refrigerated. DO NOT FREEZE. Hemolysed specimens are not acceptable.

Usage

LDH is present in all cells of the body with highest concentrations in liver, heart, muscle, kidney, lung & erythrocytes. This assay is useful for investigating a variety of diseases involving these organs. It is also used to monitor changes in tumor burden after chemotherapy. As the LDH elevations in cancer are very erratic, it should not be used for the diagnosis of cancer.
