Submit Pus in sterile screw capped container OR Pus Swab innoculated in special Aerobic Transport Medium available from LPL. Ship refrigerated.
Usage
Common organisms isolated are S.aureus, Pseudomonas, S.pyogenes, E.coli, Beta Hemolytic Streptococci, Coliform bacilli and Proteus species. On identification of the organism, antibiotic susceptibilities are performed that aid in selection of appropriate antibiotic for treatment.
