2 mL (0.5 mL min.) serum from 1 SST. Ship refrigerated or frozen.

Usage

CMV is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality specially in organ transplant recipients and immunocompromised individuals. It is also responsible for congenital disease of the newborn. Positive CMV IgG results indicate past or current CMV infection. Such individuals are potentially at risk of transmitting CMV infection through different modes. Positive CMV IgM results indicate a recent infection which may be primary or reactivation / re-infection.
